Blue Lake Christian Writers Retreat is a special opportunity for aspiring or experienced writers to experience quality instruction from writing professionals in a quiet, retreat-type environment. At this conference, The Upper Room associate editor Susan King will be teaching a continuing class, How to Become a Best-selling Author with Your First Credit which will focus on analyzing magazine markets and writing and marketing non-fiction feature articles. She will also be teaching two workshops—one on writing for The Upper Room magazine and one on polishing an author’s writing style for any genre.
Mt. Hermon Christian Writers Conference

This five-day conference features specific helps for beginning, intermediate, advanced, and even professional writers. Its faculty includes representatives from major book and magazine publishers plus agents and experienced freelance authors. It will offer keynote addresses from New York Times best-selling author Mark Batterson as well as mentoring clinics, morning tracks, afternoon workshops, opportunities to meet one-on-one with the faculty, and fun recreational activities among the Californai redwoods.

It will offer keynote addresses from Kim Bangs, senior acquisitions editor for Bethany House and Chosen, divisions of the Baker Publishing Group, Karen Ball, agent with the Steve Laube Literary agency, and Allen Arnold, head of Content & Resources for Ransomed Heart Ministries, as well as numerous afternoon workshops, opportunities to meet one-on-one with the faculty, and post-conference activities at Southern California tourist attractions with conferees and faculty.

Oregon Christian Writers Summer Coaching Conference
August 15-18, 2017
Red Lion on the River Hotel (Jantzen Beach), Portland
OCW Summer Conference offers 10 morning intensive coaching classes, 24 afternoon workshops on writing craft, one-on-one meetings with editors and agents, mentoring appointments, manuscript reviews and professional panels in a relaxed yet professional setting. Daily worship and general sessions will feature keynoters, Frank Peretti, the best-selling author of This Present Darkness and Piercing the Darkness, and Tessa Afshar, the Christy-award-winning author of Harvest of Gold, and In the Field of Grace, based on the story of Ruth. The conference also features an Early Bird seminar “Create Compelling Novels and Screenplays” with Hollywood script consultant and best-selling author of Writing Screenplays that Sell, Michael Hague.
