Good Morning!
Peter Perich, today's guest blogger and writer of the meditation in The Upper Room magazine for January 27, is apparently a morning person. Read his blog to see if you agree:
Good Morning!
“Goooood morning, Memorial High School!” I love reading the morning announcements over the public-address system at our high school. It allows me to express to our students how I really feel. Earlier this month, I read in The Upper Room magazine what the psalmist said to our Lord in Psalm 59:16, “I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love.” And that is how I feel. I have met the morning with high expectation and joy to meet the day head on.
During my usual daily work, I meet with my students individually, reminding them that today is another day. They must get as much out of every day as they can. If they are having a bad day because they are arguing with a friend or an enemy or even a parent, I try to relate to them what was said earlier in the month in Ephesians 4:31, “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger ….” I have always believed and have expressed to others that it takes more energy to be mad and bitter with someone than to forgive and to get on with your day.
Yes, some days, weeks, and months have really challenged me to sing of love in the morning or get rid of bitterness throughout the day, but I try to remember that we need to take “one day at a time,” and as another wise person stated according to Matthew 7:7, “Ask and it will be given to you.” Any of us can say that prayer and at any time of the day read The Upper Room, because many of us can and do lean on our Upper Room friends to make it through this “one day.”

Thanks for this and today's Upper Room devotion. Knowing that UR readers have prayer focus today for those with cancer is hope giving as I pray for my cousin and friend, Kim (breast cancer) and Janet (tonsil cancer). Thank you.
Peter, you are a saint among men! Keep up the good work and continue to live each day to the fullest. And remember, each day you are here, is a day the Lord has something special in mind, that only you can do! God Bless.
Every day a gift and every prayer a promise that the Lord hears me. Father for those who need healing we pray for your special touch. Draw us nearer blessed Savior to the cross.
